What is a priority date?
Your priority date is the filing date of your labor certification (PERM) or immigrant petition (I-140). It determines your place in line for a green card.
What does "current" mean?
When your priority date is earlier than or equal to the Final Action Date published in the Visa Bulletin, you are "current" and can file for adjustment of status (I-485) or complete consular processing.
How often is the bulletin updated?
The DOS publishes a new Visa Bulletin monthly, typically mid-month for the following month. We check as soon as the new bulletin is published.
